“You can choose a regular life or a premium life,” says Steph Prem, five-time Australian snowboard champion and winter Olympian, who is sharing her passion and expertise for fitness and a healthy lifestyle at her new premium performance studio, Studio PP in South Yarra.
Following the success of her pop up studio in Windsor, Steph spent months trying to find the perfect space “where people can access an elite style of training, but not have the intimidation of that sort of environment”.
She wanted a nurturing space that allows people to walk away from a class with a solid understanding of what their body needs and can do, and she has created just that.
“It was an absolute dump when we came across the building and almost walked away from it”, but Steph’s dedication to achieve her vision saw her do all the designing and renovations herself.
There’s a six bed reformer pilates studio allowing for one-on-one assistance. Reformer pilates was Steph’s saving grace when she broke her back in a snowboard accident leaving her with a spine-chilling number of injuries.
Studio Two holds bootcamp circuits, which are Studio PP’s signature work out, as well as barre classes, boxing, mat pilates and yoga, with a class for mums and bubs too. They even have a personal trainer available. With so many classes to choose from, we asked Steph for her magic formula:
If everybody did one Pilates class for core and stability, and one boot camp for strength and conditioning and one yoga class per week for flexibility and mindfulness, we would all be better, healthier, and happier humans.
Hard to argue with that, isn’t it?
And you can BYO ingredients for breakfast after class, with a kitchen equipped with blenders and nutritious extras at your disposal to set you on your way for the day. Oh, and if you’re not sure what foods you should be fuelling your body with, there’s an onsite nutritionist too.
