Ravens Creek Farm is a charming 90 acre working farm in Moriac (25 kilometres west of Geelong) run by husband and wife team Hayden and Jasmin Findlay.

They use all natural farming techniques and they’re all about working with nature and what is seasonably available.

Ravens Creek berries 2You can unleash your inner child and going on a berry picking adventure, enjoy a bite to eat at the farm cafe, or pick up some farm fresh organic produce for your summer escape.

There’s organic raspberries, silvan berries, boysenberries, young berries and blackberries ripe for the picking in the orchard from November to mid-February.

They’ve also got 8kg packs of pasture raised heritage breed pork and 100% grass fed, chemical free beef.

It is said that happy animals make for tastier, more nutritious meat.  If the way the pigs gleefully snort and trot towards farmer Hayden is anything to go by, they’re pretty happy with their natural life under the trees.

Hayden has his work cut out for him moving the cattle around the farm at least once a day, in a way that mimics their natural herding instincts, which not only means they get the most energy possible from the grass they eat but also helps regenerate the land.

You can order the meat ahead by dropping Hayden and Jasmin a line, or sign up to the mailing list to be kept in the loop with what’s available.

Free range eggs, raw organic honey, apricots, wild cherries, apples, pomegranates, seasonal veggies and cut flowers are some of the other fruits of Hayden and Jasmin’s labour you can expect to find in the farm shop, all dependent on the time of year, of course.

Whether you’re up for a berry picking adventure or a pitstop for a bite to eat and some fresh air, the feel good factor at Raven’s Creek Farm is so great you’re guaranteed to leave with a smile on you’re face.
